About Jennifer Gianni
Jennifer has been involved in Mind/Body Fitness for 19 year and began her formal Pilates training in 1997 in LA at Performing Arts Physical Therapy (PAPT) under the direction of Pilates Master teacher Melinda Bryan (certified and ordained by 1st generation Pilates Master Romana Kryzanowska). Jennifer's training during these years included workshops, testing and continuing education seminars with Romana Kryzanowska of Romana's Pilates/ True Pilates in NY as well as other Classical Pilates greats like Siri Darma, Jillian Hessel and Jay Grimes.
While she remains grateful for her Classical Pilates roots and her excellent training, Jennifer knew something was missing. Jennifer has always been very interested in anatomy biomechanics. She knew intuitively that, if Joseph Pilates had lived longer, he would have followed science and kept changing and developing his work. It certainly would have not been frozen in time.
Jennifer continued her training with PhysicalMind Institute with teachers like Tom Cook of San Francisco, Lesley Powell of NY and renowned movement therapist Marika Molnar. Jennifer began training teachers for PhysicalMind Institute in CA and North and South Carolina.
In her many continuing education courses and through the many teachers Jennifer was working with she kept hearing about the amazing work and teaching of Marie Jose Blom of Long Beach Dance Conditioning. Soon Jennifer started her third Pilates comprehensive training with Marie Jose and Long Beach Dance Conditioning. It was far beyond anything Jennifer had experienced. Marie Jose has an amazing way of translating the work; as if she is channeling Joseph Pilates. Jennifer immediately began teaching under Marie Jose in Marina del Rey and Long Beach. Marie Jose took Jennifer under her wing and helped Jennifer develop her Professional Pre/ Post natal training, which has become part of the curriculum for all new instructors in her program. This is the first and only time Marie Jose has ever added a program to her professional training from another source.
